The US Congress is where progress goes to die. Somewhere along the line, our legislature seems to have decided to do nothing when it should be doing something and to do something when it should be doing nothing. Thus, it's literally the least liked thing in America, with a 9% approval rating. That's worse than BP during the oil spill (16%) and Paris Hilton (15%).
Of course, that was before tonight, when it turned out that the special commission on deficit reduction had decided, in light of the fact that they disagreed, to just stop trying to work. Brilliant.
